About Me

I am married to the most wonderful woman in the world. Weare going back to basics. We have 5 acres of land and are in the process ofclearing and fencing to becoming self sufficient. I grew up in a time wheneveryone raised a garden, cows, pigs and chickens. We canned our own food anddid not rely on Grocery stores or animals with who knows what they have beenfeed or shot up with. That is what we are doing going back to the basics.

About Me

Just kinda getting into this whole agro thing and I'm very excited. I started investigating reforestation techniques and such but quickly jumped on gardening.

I've been working in and around bird conservation for about ten years now. I've had been looking to purchase a property bordering a reserve in the tropics for about 5 years now and now I'm happy to share that that dream has been realized! I just recently purchased 125 acres for my conservation project, of which 2 km borders the ocean reserve of Galera-San Francisco in north-west Ecuador. I will be putting in roughly 5 hects of cacoa and 10-15 hects reforestaion. lotta agro in my near future! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED :)

I've been waiting for a patch to open up in the ECCO farm organic community gardens in East Hampton, NY for some while now and finally recieved one nearing the end of last June. I quickly went to work on that being my first garden. Being as it was late in the season I drop almost the entire garden with already started plants. It was a raging success! All except the tomatoes :( I planted 11 varieties totaling 36 plants. Almost all were effected by late blight that scourged easter long island last summer, much to our disappointment. Blight resistent tomatoe seeds needed! In total I had about 60 species of vegetables, herbs and flowers in that being my first garden. This year I've aquired two more patches(each being 20'x20'). I'm collaborating with a fellow gardener with a 5o herb medicinal herb wheel on the second patch and a mixed berry patch for the third.

Also starting two bee colonies this spring in my community garden, nuces on order!!

That should give you a little idea about who I am gardenly speaking.

Cheers and KEEP GETTIN DIRTY!!!
